Maths à la Carte: Intensive Advanced Level Mathematics Revision in France

Maths à la Carte is a new venture in mathematics tuition aiming to combine high-quality mathematics teaching with a perfect environment for students wishing to improve their examination grades.

We offer intensive revision courses in Advanced level Mathematics to three students at a time, for a five-day period. Full board will be provided as well as a small programme of leisure activities to balance against the intensive studies of up to six hours per day. As well as group work, students will have individual sessions with the teacher.

Patsy Frost

The teacher is Patricia Frost, who is an Advanced Skills Teacher in Mathematics, and an expert in A-level teaching, having led Bedfordshire County’s Professional Study Group in Key Stage 5 (sixth form) mathematics teaching.

Teaching takes place in a self-contained building on our property in France. This building contains three large bedrooms (Gîtes de France approved) each with separate shower and W.C. en suite; a very large room on the ground floor provides for teaching space and leisure time activities, as well as a dining area; access to the bedrooms is provided by two staircases, one external and one interior.

The teaching area is equipped with an interactive whiteboard. There is an exterior courtyard providing an area to relax. The property is located in a small village about 15 miles from the town of Angers which has an airport Angers-Marcé (direct Eastern Airways flights to and from Southampton and connections to Aberdeen, Belfast, Dublin, Glasgow, Leeds-Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle (via Southampton); there is also a main line railway station with direct services to Paris and Lille by TGV, allowing connection with Eurostar to London St Pancras. We shall provide a pick-up and drop-off service as part of the package.
